The Sunshine Coast Racecourse began thoroughbred racing in July 1985. In racing terms, the Sunshine Coast Racecourse is relatively young but has quickly developed into a first class racing and training facility. It is operated by the Sunshine Coast Turf Clubs and is one of the country’s premier courses. It’s located less than an hour north of Brisbane, and just minutes from the beautiful city Caloundra. History of Townsville Racecourse

The Townsville Racecourse, in North Queensland, is actually positioned about a thousand miles away from Brisbane. It has a circumference of 1680 meters, with a home straight of 310 meters. Racing is done in a clockwise fashion. The track has 5 starting chutes, which are used for the different distances that the races have. The track is run downhill starting at the 1000 meters chute and has sweeping turns, which make it ideal to overcome the lead horses. Continue reading

History of Ascot Racecourse

The Ascot Racecourse, which is located in Perth, Western Australia, is located roughly 8 km just dead east of the Perth business district. The headquarters of the Western Australian Turf Club, the organization responsible for running the racecourse, has their headquarters directly opposite.
