The Royal Randwick Racecourse has a circumference of 2,213 metres and a straight of 410 meters. This long distance track, with wide sweeping bends, gives all comers a chance at the winner’s stand. The Toowoomba Racecourse has a very rich tradition and storied history, and its roots run deep in the local community. It was originally called the Clifford Park Racecourse and was acquired in 1861. The racecourse itself has seen many changes over the years, as The Darling Downs Jockey Club conducted the first meeting there on 6 March 1862, when it was known as Drayton and Toowoomba Racecourse. The Townsville Racecourse, in North Queensland, is actually positioned about a thousand miles away from Brisbane. It has a circumference of 1680 meters, with a home straight of 310 meters. Racing is done in a clockwise fashion. The track has 5 starting chutes, which are used for the different distances that the races have.
